Happy Thanksgiving...

I'd say it was a pretty good year.

In the Spirit of Being Thankful.

Tomorrow I will be surrounded by people I love (or just sort of like, whatev), eating Turkey and pie and streaming the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and trying to get Amber's fireplace going.

Tonight, as I made the dough for my mom's rolls, I felt really satisfied that I'd memorized the recipe. And even more satisfied as I kneaded it into submission. I enjoyed walking around Walmart with the Doctor while she spent a million dollars on our dinner tomorrow and I spent $3.50 on a pine candle. And Dana's making us french toast for breakfast in the morning.

This thing that I'm feeling, this warm fuzziness, is accompanied by this man, song number three in particular-a version by the Tabernacle Choir can be heard by that gadget below (a widget I completely stole from Anna.)

And I am Thankful for this life in Salt  Lake, this second life where I get to enjoy a fireplace and a king-size bed, my best friend who makes me laugh and the opportunity to get elbow deep up a turkey's butt.

Happy Thanksgiving.

My grown up Christmas List

as requested (though I hardly expect anything because I can hardly afford to give, plus I'm flying home on Delta and they charge you TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS to check your bag and I really don't want to pay that which leaves me with a dainty carry-on and zero extra room, AND my parents already got me a pretty rockin' gift earlier this year.)

or

These TOMS. So cute, so trendy (shoot me) so cool because they give a pair to a child in need EVERY TIME one is purchased.

I'd like a new MP3 player, as my Zen will no longer charge/add songs/remove songs, and if the colors on the site are true, I think the green or yellow Nano would be lovely.

Photobucket
The Kindle. This would be no nice for my bus ride-and much lighter than carrying six books home (which I did this evening). My only concern is someone stealing it because I happen to be using it in the open.

And finally
Photobucket
Baked Doritos. Weird? Yes, but a necessity for a girl on Weight Watchers, and I cannot find them ANYWHERE in Provo or the outlying area. It would be a real and true Christmas miracle if I found these in my stocking this year.

I'm listening to Michael Bublé Holiday on pandora, and David Archuleta just came on and he has a surprisingly sweet voice. Also, I remember thinking last year that Christmas went by quickly, and I don't really like that, so I feel that in order to prolong the warm feelings it brings, it's pretty appropriate to be listening to Holiday music as early as you want. I'm pretty sure my favorite is Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. Mama raised me well. That's all.

Dear Future Husband,

If you plan on marrying me, I expect our life to look like this within ten years of that (very small) event.
City first (or what-have-us): fun and couply and without kids and with late movies and late sleeping and all that really good stuff.
But then, this.

I'm serious.

And now my room smells like Irish Spring, which I like a lot.

My pop, man, he sends me some random things. Every now and then I'll come home from work and find a small package waiting for me on the table. Sometimes it's from "Poppy" or "Dad," sometimes its from "Grandpa Jerry" (why?). He's sent me books, old VHS tapes, some shirts he picked up on a recent trip to Florida. It's always exciting to see the goodies that make him think of me.

Today it was this soap box, and inside, wrapped in plastic (and smelling quite nice), was this lovely little figurine:

Isn't she pretty? There was also a photoshopped note sent along:

And amen to that.
Thanks dad! You're the best!

Tuuuuuuuuuesday aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafternoooooooooon

This guy

makes my Tuesdays so very nice.

And today we had the additions of this guy

and this guy

(who drove me home and even wiped the seat down before I got inside)

Included in the festivities:

Back rubs
(my payment for a wager lost)

(less gut-busting funny than last week, but still)

Quarters
(which I was really good at until I started thinking about it)

Dirty puberty videos
(which I will not link because it was DIRTY)

...

It was fun being the only girl in this group of wild and crazy guys. They make me laugh.

And Rob calls me babe which is probably what he calls all girls, but it is cute just the same.
(But it wouldn't work if Tom tried to)

Blog about it.

Among the funnier things I've seen all morning...

Because it is 9 and I have been up since 540 and it's cold at work and I really need to use the ladies but Alaina is late and Darin's siblings keep coming into the center and that is terribly intimidating, I present you with this website:

It is fantastic.

I've been thinking about becoming a runner.

I have dreams of being on runs a lot. Not in scary, being chased ways, but in taking a jog around downtown Vancouver ways. ALL THE TIME. Amber thinks they're really obvious revelation dreams, like God is telling me I'd be a really good runner. Most of you know I'm not athletically inclined in the least. Most of you know I come up with great ideas and then never follow through (do you see how the miles haven't increased on my "Walk to California" picture? Yeah...) I do not know the first thing about running- how to stretch before, whats a normal pace, how often I can stop (because I WILL be stopping). And seriously, who decides to become a runner right when winter is starting? I'm a genius, can't you tell? But this article, and the header on this blog are pretty inspirational. Seriously. Can you imagine being able to run through a picture like that? I can. Now, can I actually run through a picture like that? Not with these chubs. I gotta get on it. Are any of my readers runners? Fi-Lo is. I need tips. And training. And a lot of water. And maybe someone to push me really hard on the back when I start to slow down (though I may turn around and kick you if you do that, but only at the beginning).

The position has been filled.

Photobucket

And I am so, so excited.

Taylor is flying from Portland to LA in December

so that I don't have to be alone at Disneyland...

On my birthday.

(But you can still come, if you want. I'd like that.)

...

I spent today with my friend Travis and his sister Cate in Park City.

We shopped. And ate. And shopped.

And toured the Olympic village.

I had a lot of fun. And took some pictures with the minolta,

and the holga Tom gave me.

I bought a mood ring, and it is currently blue.

Have a good night. <3
